Using Chrome

After a few days of use, I am delighted with the simple, clean, minimalistic user interface. Some people complain about lack of support for toolbars or not having a proper bookmarks organizer, but I love the Google concept of “forget about folders and simply search” when you need to find a page you bookmarked, or you visited. Same as in Gmail. Why waste time organizing emails into folders, if you have a powerful search feature. The single box for search and URL with autocomplete it is also an improvement once you get used to it, even if it feels strange at the beginning to search for words on what used to be the URL box.

Great job Google!

    Hi Chemi.
I was just reading about Google Chrome, and suddenly thought about you blog. I can see you are already using it, aha. I’ll give it a try right now.

I normally use Firefox 2 (not tried version 3), but one thing it is painfull is that I work with 4 different computers, and even one with dual boot Windows XP/Linux and each firefox holds its own bookmarks, and sometimes is quite annoying. I know it exists foxmarks, but I haven’t had time to try it.

Also, creating folders and organizing bookmarks sometimes is quite a tedious task.
Let’s see if Chrome can do something with that.

    Take care.

Off-topic: The Ultra Mobile PC or netbooks are coming. Acer Aspire One for 299€, with Linpus Linux.

    Hi Tom

have you tried the Google toolbar to have the same bookmarks in all computers (as long as you are signed-in)?

    Netbooks are cool indeed.
