If you liked "The Last Lecture", another fantastic memoir I just read and highly recommend is "My Stroke of Insight" by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor. Her TEDTalk video (ted.com) has been seen as many times as The Last Lecture I think, and Oprah did 4 shows on her book, so there are a lot of similarities. In My Stroke of Insight, there's a happy ending though. It's an incredible story! I hear they're making it into a movie. How inspiring Randy Pausch is! Hearing Randy and his viewpoints has been empathetic and uplifting and greatly helpful I do not know you but I feel a closeness and ray for you and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers! I wish ALL the pharmaceutical companies would stop their obnoxious advertising on TV and start focusing more on resesarch and Cures and the FDA and the departmetn of agriculture would focus on our healthful dietary improvements within the industry to undo the harm of processed foods and GMO's!! I belileve wholeheartedly this is the cause of all GI originated diseases!! My brother just died of pancreatic cancer…
